lots of sleep!

last night i got some good food from mommy - it made me so tired, i slept from 7:30 pm to 3 am! she tried to feed me after our walk, just before i went to bed, but i didn't want any more. since i had a funny schedule i made sure to give mommy lots of smiles when i told her i was hungry at 3. :) it made her night ;)

today mommy did lots of cooking - this way when she is back at work, she can come home and hang out with me instead of cooking supper! we'll either have that food, or daddy can cook on the grill. then we went shopping - mommy found more work clothes, and daddy got some new tennies. it was a busy day!

last day home with mommy

Yesterday was my last day to be home all day with mommy. i decided to make it a good one - during tummy time, i rolled from my tummy to my back! mommy was very excited. (when daddy got home, i didn't feel like doing it for him :) what a stinker, huh?) then later in the day, i giggled out loud for mommy. what a fun day! :) i'm gonna miss her next week :( she's been doing lots of fun stuff with me, and we've been too busy to take pictures. She's just making sure we're having fun.

Today we went to the farmer's market again. I like getting a ride around the square, and usually can squeeze in a nap while riding on daddy (and sometimes mommy).

then we hung out at home for a while. For supper mommy and daddy took me to the brat fest. it was pretty fun - there was lots of (interesting) people and loud music. mommy and daddy had root beer floats too...yum!

Here i am at 10 weeks old with my friend raggedy andy. my grandma tammie introduced us. i'm sure we'll be good friends in a couple months :)

mmm milk and out on the town

Last night i chowed 3+ oz of mommy milk in a bottle for bedtime. That filled me up really well and i slept 4 hours 2 shifts in a row! i figured mommy deserved lots of sleep before she heads back to work! then i slept lots during the day today.

mommy and daddy took me to olive garden for supper tonight - Thanks, Auntie Danielle! I like when they take me out on the town - I never want to miss any action. i finally decided to close my eyes for a bit after mommy and daddy's food came. :)

quilt

today i was still a little cranky from all my shots, but mommy took good care of me and gave me lots of snuggles. i took 2 oz of mommy's milk in a bottle at bedtime tonight! she was so happy. daddy put me to bed, too. that gave mommy lots of time to work on a baby quilt for my future girlfriend, Olivia;) i'm not a huge pink fan, but isn't it pretty?

2-month appt

Today I had my 2-mo checkup with Dr. S. The doctor was very busy, so we had to wait for a while. But that's okay - i just fell asleep on daddy after they measured me. Can you believe at 2 months, i'm already 13 lbs, 6 oz, and 24.25" long?? The doctor was nice to me for most of the appointment. She told mommy to help with my dry scalp she can put baby oil on before my bath. we'll see what i think of that.

Then Dr. S. said goodbye, and sent nurse Kathy in....now *she* was the mean one. She brought in some medicine for me. I had to get 3 shots and an oral vaccine. i didn't like the oral vaccine and kept crying, hoping they wouldn't make me take it. instead they stuck my pacifier in my mouth and tricked me by dripping in the liquid! Then mommy held my hands, and another nurse came in and held my legs, and they stuck me 3 times - once in one leg, and 2 in the other!!! i was NOT happy! the rest of the day i was just whiny and wanted either mommy to hold me or to sit in my swing. if i got either of those things, i was happy as a clam. i even slept on mommy some.

Yesterday we went to the farmer's market. It was pretty sunny out, so daddy got my hat out and i wore that around the square - mommy thinks i look like Gilligan ;)

Aunt Tracy and Uncle Dave came to visit yesterday, too. They hadn't been to Madison before, so they came to see our house and, of course, me! :) We took them on a tour of daddy's work and then out to eat at the great dane. Then we went for some gelato and sorbet at Paciugo. I was a good day all boy - I like going out on adventures.

Today daddy tried to shove a bottle in my mouth again. i fought as much as i could, but eventually ate some milk from it. i can't resist me some good mommy milk! in fact, I've been getting so much mommy milk that mommy and daddy had to move up my carseat straps! i'm getting so long!!

Bottle attempt

Last night for bed time daddy tried to get me to eat out of a bottle. I didn't do very well, so he came home for lunch today and tried again. i didn't want it AT ALL! i like to get my mommy's milk straight from the source! mommy says i have to learn quick, though, because she has to go back to work...and i can't exactly hang out under her desk... :(

Today mommy caught me in a new sleep position - i usually put my hands straight above my head. today i had them straight out.

2 months old!

Happy 2 months to me!! :)

Although my "official" appointment with Dr. S. isn't until next week, mommy and daddy were curious about how big i am. They measured me at home on Sunday - I weighed around 13lbs, and was ~23" long! I also tried out the bumbo - I still can't really hold my head up, so mommy put a pillow behind me. But i still don't like to stay in it for very long. it's kind of boring ;)

On Monday we took wrigley to the groomer - she was getting pretty shaggy. All the ladies at waggin' tails loved my hair and said i was cute - hey, who doesn't? :) When we picked wrigley up, her hair was SO short! That's good, though - she doesn't like to be combed at all. She also had her ponytail cut off. Hopefully that means a maintenance-free summer, dog-wise :) I'll have to have mommy take a picture to show you, even though it's been a while and she's a little shaggier. She still looks good though, and still insists on being in my face ALL the time.

Grandma got here on Tuesday to help mommy out. Mommy needs to find some new clothes for when she goes back to work in a few weeks, so all three of us went shopping while daddy was at work. I was a very good boy, and only fussed a little. but that's because i saw grandma, and she wasn't holding me - how dare she!

Mommy and grandma also put some herb, plants and seeds in the ground for our small garden. I can't wait till i'm older and i can dig in the dirt! For now, though, mommy set me on the patio for a while in my carseat. I like being outside almost as much as wrigley! ;)

mommy had another BP appointment yesterday, and had another good reading (114/78). Today, she had to get her teeth drilled into, and i got to stay home with grandma for a while. Then tonight mommy got a fancy haircut. she calls it her "summer mom 'do" :)

Earlier this week i played on my play gym a lot. I particularly like the little butterflies and watch them often, especially when mommy makes them fly around :)

Yesterday i got a visit from grandpa mark and great grandpa and grandma thompson! I wasn't very happy at first, and then mommy's camera battery died. :( So, these are the only pictures I have.

Today mommy got her BP tested again, and it was at its lowest ever: 106/68!! go mommy!

Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!

Yesterday morning i gave mommy and daddy a scare at 5am with an ear-piercing scream...i just wanted my pacifier to stop poking me in the head! i also told mommy i really wanted some breakfast. so she fed me and then we all went back to sleep. later on at my 8am feeding, i figured i wasn't too nice earlier so i decided to give mommy a smile so big that i lost my pacifier! it melted her heart :) mommy realized too late that she didn't have any pictures with me on her first mother's day :( she sure takes lots of pictures of me, though!

today i was a stinker - mommy had a massage at 7:30, and she was insisting i eat before she left. but i just wasn't hungry! so i wailed and wailed. when she got back i was finally hungry, so she fed me. then we had to go back to the doctor to get her blood pressure checked. i decided to test her out - i wanted to keep moving, but she wasn't pushing the stroller during her appointment, so i started to cry right when the nurse started the pressure monitor. luckily, mommy was able to keep her cool, and it didn't make her BP rise - it was 120/80! It's varied from the high-120's to high-140's over high-70's to high-80's, so i think she's doing pretty well :) then, of course, i was an angel and we went shopping at target. she bought me a really cool night light for my room - it looks like a rocket! :)

weekend fun

This weekend i had my first visit to grandma and grandpa's. Grandma's friends had a shower for mommy (well...me!) in Decorah. I behaved very well - i slept the whole time.

I got lots of fun toys and cool clothes! I also went 5 hours between feedings during the nights, which made mommy happy and she got lots of sleep (well, more than i normally let her have)!

Daddy keeps saying how alert i'm getting...whatever that means. i just don't want to miss all the fun! I'm starting to follow things with my eyes when mommy and daddy tease me with a toy.

Today mommy had another blood pressure check: 122/89. it keeps going lower! :)
