Sick (again), and lots of new words

Thursday I made daycare call mommy. My eye was getting all goopy and turning a little bit pink. So mommy came to pick me up, and then later on that evening we went to the doctor. She did say I had the start of pink eye, so she gave mommy some ointment to put on my eye 3 times a day. Needless to say, I gave mommy and daddy a hard time, and made both of them take part in the process. But, luckily, we only had to do it on Friday and the weekend. Here I am just hanging out, watching Elmo. I also got hot, so i decided to take all my clothes off...

My Mimi Tammie also came to visit me this weekend. She brought me a shovel my own size. So we went outside and played with it. I made her read lots of books with me, and gave her lots of cuddles.

I'm starting to put lots more words together, and almost speak in complete sentences. I am very good at narrating what's going on. I also talk about myself an awful lot. :) Here are some of my favorites phrases and items-of-know:
* Where'd Elmo go?
* Daiden more rice - I love rice, and am still having problems with my Ks.
* Daddy, ligley walk outdide
* I can tell you who most of the monsters are on Sesame Street. Though, the ones that need no prompting include Abby, Elmo, Ernie, and Cookie Monster. And sometimes Snuffy (which comes out as "Nuh-my")
* I can say most of my classmates' names pretty clear: Aly, Dade (Cade), Dendon (Trenton), Lala (Elissa, my teacher), Boggy (Peggy, my teacher). the others have a few more syllables or harder letters to say.
* Bukky off (T.V. off - who knows where bukky came from - and no, not Bucky Badger)
* Bankie - blanket
* Mitt - Mittens
* Daiden all done milk; Daiden all done insert food here - Mommy and Daddy are very happy I've started telling them I'm done, instead of just throwing stuff on the floor...which I still do occasionally, when they're not fast enough.
* Choo choo up down, wheeeee - my choo choo train has a hill and goes up and down. When it goes down, I hear the people riding inside say "wheeee" :)

I've gotten pretty good at putting toys away before taking a new one out. Mommy and Daddy usually try to reinforce this when I want to play with my train and my blocks, since there are so many pieces to those.

Sick and Workin' for a livin'

Friday i had a fever of 103, and had to go home early from daycare. But you wouldn't know it this weekend! Aside from my eyes looking like i didn't feel well, i sure acted like my normal, crazy self :) I think it's because I passed it on to mommy. She wasn't feeling well the rest of the weekend. Needless to say, we didn't do much - just ran a few errands and hung out. I played with my choo choo train a lot. I love to make it go up and down the hills on the track.

Before I got sick, though, mommy and daddy thought it was time that I start helping out around the house to earn my keep.

My first vacation from mommy and daddy

The day after Christmas, mommy and daddy left Wrigley and me with Mimi and Papa in Decorah. They drove all the way home for a quick stop and then kept driving to see my other Mimi and Papa in Mt. Prospect. They had a morning (very early) flight to the Big Apple the next day. I missed them, but Mimi and Papa sent updates and I talked to them on the phone a lot. :)

Above I am talking to mommy and daddy on the phone, having a snack of chips and guacamole, and hanging out with papa just before bed time.

Well, after spending a week with Mimi and Papa, I didn't want to go to daycare. I screamed as loud as i could, but mommy still left. I forgot about her a few minutes later ;) I did that every day, but each day got a little better.

Mommy and daddy had lots of fun in New York. The Cyclones lost, but they met up with lots of friends from their college. They also saw Elmo a lot!

Since their trip, I have been talking a LOT and can put a few words together to sort of form a sentence! Here's an update:
* birdie (also for Big Bird)
* Abby (from Sesame Street)
* 'po (hippo)
* nobody (when mommy and daddy tell Wrigley "nobody is there")
* "up and down" (for my train)
* ____ 'ome ("Daddy's home!" "Mimi's home!" "Papa's home")
* loo loo / choo choo
