water baby

last night we had my first swim class. i wasn't sure what to think of it right away, but by the end i was having fun. you'll have to wait for pictures until next time. mommy and daddy figured we have pics from a few days ago when i first went in a pool, and they were both planning to go in tonight, but they didn't. it just ended up being me and mommy. we sang Ring Around the Rosie, Wheels on the Bus, If You're Happy & You Know It, and lots more songs. we also splashed, "jumped" (leaned) off the edge and practiced floating on foam barbells. my favorite part was when mommy blew bubbles in the water. i thought it was funny!

we came home and i ate lots of cereal and some smoothie fruit (tonight i had The Yellow One, but i like 'em all), and then i passed out on daddy's lap.

tonight before bed, i had to blow my nose. i've been watching where mommy and daddy get kleenex from, and i finally had my chance. i pulled out most of the box!

one year old brings lots of new adventures

i also found some new storage places for some of my things: the drawer for my nuk, and the buffet/side table shelf for my dump truck.

yesterday i had my 12-mo appointment. i had to get 3 shots and a blood draw for iron levels (standard at 12-mo appts). i was not happy at the time, but i got over it quickly.

i am 29.5" long (41.05%) and weigh 20 lbs, 6 oz (15.66%). my doctor said i can have any foods, as long as it's not a choking hazard or requires lots of chewing. yahoo! i always want to eat what's on everyone else's plates, so this will be fun!

when we got home we found out that my blood test was all good - i had one earlier this year that showed low iron levels, but i was also sick today. the lead (reason for the test) was fine, and iron levels were back up to normal.

today mommy told daycare as long as it can be mashed or cut tiny, i can have it. they gave me some mac-n-cheese and chicken nuggets. i loved 'em all!! then when mommy got home after a massage that she didn't know was cancelled :(, i had some of her curry noodles! i was hungry! i had my bath and then some cereal and pears/blueberries. then i had me some mommy milk and fell asleep. mommy and daddy are hoping i sleep lots tonight! maybe more food is the answer!

swimming fun

today i went swimming at grandma and grandpa's hotel. i had so much fun!!! mommy and daddy are thinking of signing me up for some water classes.

My first birthday!

today i had a birthday party for my FIRST birthday! most of my family came over (my great grandparents even made it!) and i had some friends come too. it was a lot of fun - mommy made it have lots of "duh"s and i loved 'em all!

 grandma made me a ducky (peep) cake. i really only liked the peeps, and could have cared less about the cake and frosting.

 uncle mitch helped me kick my new ball from grandma and grandpa around.

 i also got a car - watch out for me on the road - i'm pretty wild.

i even had a cool duck balloon! i loved to lead him around the house by the string.

and one of my favorite toys was my song/noise lawn mower from aunt tracy and uncle dave. 

i love to push it on the driveway and around the house.

Totally a charmer

this morning when mommy was getting me ready, she asked if i wanted to wear my adidas outfit. i said "a-di-da" back to her! i said it 3 more times for mommy, but when we went to tell daddy, i was quiet as a mouse.

and today at daycare i had some garlic bread and pasta - it was so yummy!

When we got home, i was so happy to see wrigley. 

 then i made a few phone calls.

 and brushed my teeth before bed.

i missed daddy

last night daddy got back from a business trip he's been on since Monday. Grandma came to see me for a bit too. as a team, wrigley and i make mommy work extra hard, so grandma comes to help distract me and divide and conquer. :) when daddy got home i was almost asleep, and went over to see him. i gave him a big hug, then looked at mommy and started clapping. then gave daddy a hug and clapped some more. then this morning daddy came to see me before i got out of my crib, then he stepped out of my room. i cried until he came back. i missed him so much!

this last week mommy did a few photo shoots for my birthday invitation.

more teeth!!

my next round of teeth are finally coming in. mommy was putting some orajel on my gums, and she felt little sharp spots! for now, it's just the middle two on the top. we'll see how fast the next ones come in. everyone is glad they finally popped through, because hopefully this will stop my string of fevers and runny noses and lots of extra drool!

mommy also decided to try to trim my hair herself. i think she did a pretty good job. she did it in my bathroom and had me sit on the counter. i got to play with my penguin friend from bath time, and was very well behaved.
