last post before our trip!

here are a few pictures from a week or so ago:

 mommy even put up a giraffe "mosaic" in my room. i love it!

And, here's our veggies from this week! 3 corn cobs, 2 muskmelon, 1 watermelon, 5# taters, 2 tiny leeks, bag of 'maters, 2 large onions, 2 cukes, 4 zukes, 1 pt sm 'maters, 1 funny eggplant w/ a nose, 1 jalapeño, 1 bulb garlic, 1 sm head broccoli!

So daddy's work decided to send him on a trip 1 week before we leave on our big vacation. He left last thursday, and comes back tonight. This trip took him to LA, and usually when he gets back, i am in bed and don't get to see him until the next morning.

But i did get a surprise this weekend - Grandma came to visit! Mommy was very happy because Grandma helped keep me occupied and helped mommy get stuff done for the trip - lots of shopping, cooking (of CSA veggies!) and other items crossed off the before-the-trip list.

Tonight before i went to bed i had some abeebee (applesauce). it is yummy!

it took a while, but i'm finally starting to like my new daycare group. on thursday when mommy dropped me off, i didn't even let her come in. i just shut the gate and waved to her and said bye. needless to say, mommy was very happy.

this weekend was busy, Saturday especially. i met grandma and grandpa saillard for breakfast at the pancake cafe. then mommy tried to get me to take a nap. i took a catnap for about 30-45 minutes. then we got all fancy for Auntie D's wedding. she was very pretty. i was a bit noisy, so mommy took me out to the narthex and i ran around and watched the wedding on a tv. the reception wasn't for a couple hours, so we drove to target for an errand quick, and (as mommy and daddy had hoped) i fell asleep in the car. i slept for a little over an hour. we had some yummy food and i gave Auntie D and Uncle C high fives for congrats. we stayed later than my bedtime, and i stayed awake the whole ride home. it was probably all the sugar from the very yummy cake. i didn't go to bed until 10, but slept straight until 7. mommy and daddy were very happy.

today we just hung out and chilled. it was a 2-nap kind of day. :)

i also figured out how to crawl onto the top of a diaper box to get me some snacks.

thanksgiving fun

for thanksgiving we went down to my grandpa and grandma saillard's in chicago. grandma jan gave me some cool socks that have grippers. i was having trouble walking, and they helped me out.

and guess what i figured out how to do - on Thanksgiving after we ate, i climbed up their stairs for the first time! it was easy to learn there - their stairs are just a little shorter than mine are.

then when i got home, i went right to our stairs...and got up to the landing. that's as far as daddy would let me go :)

i sat at the table while everyone ate, and was a very good boy. grandma bought me a booster that had lots of fun toys on and i was entertained the whole meal. I also had some sweet potatoes while everyone else had turkey, cranberries, green beans and sweet potatoes too!

friday, sat and today mommy had some appointments, so i hung out with daddy. i wanted to cuddle a lot and to have daddy hold me. i lucked out that the internet was down and i got some quality mommy and daddy time ;)

we got a new ottoman recently - this is to replace the dangerous coffee table with lots of edges. i can stand up very easily now! you can see more picture of me standing by the ottoman on my picture site (link to the left).

i also am talking a LOT lately.

big discovery!

this morning i found my tongue! I tried to talk and stick my tongue out at the same time - it was a little difficult.

i got to hang out with grandma and grandpa some more, and then this afternoon we headed back home. I let mommy and daddy know i was sick of being in my car seat. first i made them stop after an hour for a new diaper, and then 45 minutes after that i made them stop again. i just didn't like my carseat! i was plenty satisfied standing on the backseat hanging on to the handle - why can't we just drive home like that? :)

but when i get my toes, i fall over sideways!!

I help mommy and daddy by holding my feet when it's time for a new diaper :)

i like my fingers

the last few days i've been getting lots better - not as many coughing fits, but i still have a runny nose and drool lots. i take care of that by rubbing it all over daddy :)

and i'm feeling well enough that i like to ham it up for mommy :)

my skin is also getting lots better - i still itch it, though... i also like to chew on my fingers more and more each day, and am starting to discover my feet! today i fell asleep with a finger in my mouth!

after daddy got home, we ate supper and went on a long walk. when i'm in my big boy stroller, i don't fall asleep anymore - there's way too much going on. i don't want to miss it all! then i had a bath and told mommy i was ready for bed. before my snack was even over, i was fast asleep...wonder how long i'll last tonight. :)
