new foods

since dr. s. said i can have lots more foods, mommy is trying some new stuff. this weekend i had some pancakes, and tonight mommy fed me some of a nutrigrain bar. i do have to say the pancakes were rather dry, but i made the same face as usual for the nutrigrain bar, which mommy says means i like it ;) i'm a texture guy - i move food all around in my mouth and make lots of faces.

sick again

today i had to go to the urgent care doctor. last night i felt really warm - my tummy, hands and head. this morning i didn't sit long enough for mommy to take my temp, but it still went up to 100.4 before i squirmed away. i just wasn't happy!

the doctor got 100.2 with the ear-mometer. the doctor said i just have a virus and will probably feel icky for a few days. lucky for mommy and daddy this always happens on the weekend :)

i felt a little better after my nap. here is my picture with andy - 38 wks old.

8 mo old with my first tooth!

last night i went to bed pretty early - mommy made me stop at the grocery store with her on the way home, so i didn't get my car-ride nap. i went to bed around 7:20 and then woke back up at 7:30. mommy and daddy should have known better.

i decided to play for a bit, then finally went back to sleep at 9:30. i called for mommy again at 10:00. i told her my teeth were hurting me - a LOT. She tried a good ol' trick - rubbing my gums with her finger. that usually works. but this time she caught her finger...on part of a tooth!! she told me she was gonna see if she can get a picture today...but we'll see how that goes. i don't plan on cooperating.

mommy is relieved, because my nose was getting really runny the night before, and sometimes i would wake up and cough up my extra drool! i was also pulling at my ears every once in a while. so mommy and daddy were worried my ear infection was back (or hadn't completely gone away).

and...today i'm also 8 months old! here is my picture with andy - they're starting to get further between. I'll have to remind mommy to take some more pics with Andy. This is me at 35 weeks old.

zootie patootie

Here is my not-so-regular photo with Andy. This is from two days ago, Oct 16 - I'm 30 weeks old. i wore my cyclones apparel in hopes of a win. but we got exactly the opposite. :( Oh well. this cute picture makes up for it ;)

Look how tall i'm getting - i'm almost as high as the back of the rocking chair. Do you like my zootie patootie leg warmers? They have dinosaurs on them - Rawr!!

yesterday i went shopping with mommy. we went to the mall and two other stores. after each place i fell asleep, and she kept waking me up! then last night i woke up twice and she kept trying to lay me back down. at 330 i told her i didnt want to go to sleep, so she hung out with me until 430. my nose was so stuffy and my gums hurt.

today on the way to daycare i told mommy how icky i felt last night - nice and loud. i took a short nap just after i got there, then this afternoon i took a three-and-a-half hour nap, then ate a six oz bottle. both records for me. then on the way home i was noisy again.

tonight i army-crawled all over and tried to go upstairs cuz i knew daddy was up there.

new sleeping position

When we went to Decorah, I picked out a new t-shirt. it says my mom's a quality chick from the chick hatchery. I wore it to daycare yesterday, and then when mommy got home we posed for our matching picture together :)

then, since i was lookin' all spiffy, we took another photo with andy. (20 wks, 2 days old).

that really wore me out, but i didn't want to sleep in my crib. first mommy had me sleep with her and i passed out. then they took me up to my crib and i tossed and turned a lot in my sleep. mommy and daddy always swaddle me when they put me down and wrap me under a 2nd blanket. both times i woke up last night, i was lying on my side, with my hands out above my head.

they are definitely okay with this position, because i slept 4-5 hours between meals last night!

4 months old!!

today i'm 4 months old!

whacha think about that, andy? you're almost 4 months old too! can you roll over yet??

i rolled over this morning after mommy had dressed me - i didn't plan on it, it just kind of happened! i rolled from my back to my tummy. other than that, nothing too special today.

mommy talked to a nurse yesterday - dr. s said i can eat some cereal :) i ate a lot more often this weekend! mommy also asked them about my skin, and the nurse said dr. s sent a referral for me to see a dermatologist. so mommy called and we are going on friday to see what we can do about my itchy skin. we are still using cortisone cream, and the doc said that's not good, since it's a steroid. she recommended something else in the meantime.

the last thing mommy talked to the doc about was a carseat option. i'm growing so fast i will soon be too big for my carrier!! last time mommy weighed me (a few days ago and with my clothes on), i weighed 18 lbs!! my carrier only goes until 22 lbs...get shopping mommy!!

happy 4th of july!

Yesterday grandpa helped me stand and sit up so i could play in the grass. i had lots of fun!

later on, when i was taking a nap on grandma, wrigley took grandpa for a walk. They met a black lab puppy and apparently wrigley got a little too anxious. she got out of her collar! grandpa said she knew right where to go, and came straight home! before grandma and grandpa left, they took a nice family picture of us. Wrigley and i made things a big challenging...Happy 4th!

today mommy had holiday from work and daddy took a vacation day. it was so much fun having an extra day at home with them. mommy noticed a few things the last few days. I am whining a lot more. it's mostly like a little moan. and i tend to do it mostly when i'm tired, but other times if i just want to talk. i can also hold my head up when i'm pulled by my hands from a lying position into a sitting position. i'm getting so strong! i also like to stand "by myself"...if only i had better balance...
