Fun weekend with mimi and papa

This weekend I got to see my Mimi and Papa Thompson. They came to see me Friday night, and we all went out for some yummy pizza and pasta at Avanti in Verona. This morning after I woke up, we went to their hotel and had some yummy breakfast and went swimming! I wasn't too sure of it right away, but once I got to pour water all over everything and everyone, I was fine. After we went swimming, I let Mimi and Papa take a nice photo with me for their Christmas card. It took a few attempts, but we got some nice ones. Mommy likes how much I'm smiling in this one :)

I was asleep before we even made it out of the parking lot! I got up pretty soon after (after an hour), but then this afternoon I took another 1.5 hour nap (mommy had to wake me up before I slept until my bedtime). In between I had a quick snack ;) I have started to become more adventurous in my food choices, and have started to mix things together.

When I was up for good this evening, I loaded up everything that would fit into my car and set out on a roadtrip around the house.

last night i ate over 9 oz of food for supper! i had some spinach and potatoes, and then some spinach-apple-rutabaga (or swedes, as the company's native land calls them), and finally, some banana rice with quinoa. daddy said he was a little worried what my next diaper was going to be like :)

then at swim class, i gave daddy a hard time. he went in the water with me and i didn't want to do the floating barbells or the noodle, or swim underwater. i didn't eat much when i got home. mommy gave me a bath and gave me some milk and i slept from about 8:30 until 3:30! hopefully this new schedule will stick. mommy needs her sleep!

tonight i was really tired, so i got a bath at 6:00, and was in bed by 7:30.

i've been a ham lately, so here are a few fun pictures. in the 2nd one, i'm practicing blowing kisses - we sent a video to my grandmas for their birthdays. the 3rd one i am about to give wrigley a "hug." she likes to look out the window with me.

a good swim class

tonight at swim class i was very good. mommy was happy i made it a little easier for her, because daddy wasn't there. tonight when mommy passed me to the teacher i almost cried. but mommy was SO happy for me, that i held it in. i just stuck out my lip. then the teacher passed me back to mommy, and i didn't cry that time either. i also let mommy pour some "rain." but mommy was nice and didn't pour it on me - just near me, and she helped me put my hand into the sprinkles. my favorite part, as usual, was the jumping. i am almost to the point where i will jump to mommy. she still has to lift me off, i am not quite comfortable jumping on my own. but i do like to squat and have mommy fly me in the air and into the water. :)

tonight i was having some yummy banana mango yogurt melts, and was practicing my signs. i grabbed for some, and mommy asked if i wanted "more." i showed her the sign for "more." then i wanted even more, and next time i showed her "more" and "please" all in a row! she was so happy, and i love being able to tell her what i want :) these are also the only food i will fight wrigley for - anything else i'll hand to her and giggle when she snarfs it down.

last week at swim class mommy tried to get me to float in the noodle. i was NOT a fan.

nor was I a fan of being passed underwater to my teacher. i hope i didn't make her feel bad. maybe next time. 

This weekend i kept an eye on daddy while he worked outside. i like to sit in the sun and bang on the window and tell him what to do :)

This week we have fun themes at daycare for the "week of the young child." monday was pajama day and yesterday was rainbow day.

Today is hat day, tomorrow is sports day, and friday is dress-like-your-favorite-cartoon-character day (i plan to wear my superman shirt).

busy weekend

let's start on thursday - i had my 2nd swim class. daddy went in the water with me this time and mommy took lots of photos. i had lots of fun, just like the first time. We played with rings, chased duckies, waved at mommy, and did some jumping and back floats.

saturday we dropped wrigley off at Ruffin' it resort, and then tried to go apply for my passport, but when we got to the post office, found out you have to make an appointment. they didn't have any openings until April 16th, but the lady said we should be fine for our trip in September. 

After that, we got everything packed up, and headed to IL for a wedding. here are daddy and me all spiffed up.

i had lots of fun - got to see Grandma and Grandpa Saillard, aunt Tracy and uncle Dave, and meet my cousin Nathan. we ate, mommy and daddy got a dance in, and we headed home. i took 3 long naps in the car all day, when mommy and daddy thought i would only get 1 or 2. i was a very good boy all day.

water baby

last night we had my first swim class. i wasn't sure what to think of it right away, but by the end i was having fun. you'll have to wait for pictures until next time. mommy and daddy figured we have pics from a few days ago when i first went in a pool, and they were both planning to go in tonight, but they didn't. it just ended up being me and mommy. we sang Ring Around the Rosie, Wheels on the Bus, If You're Happy & You Know It, and lots more songs. we also splashed, "jumped" (leaned) off the edge and practiced floating on foam barbells. my favorite part was when mommy blew bubbles in the water. i thought it was funny!

we came home and i ate lots of cereal and some smoothie fruit (tonight i had The Yellow One, but i like 'em all), and then i passed out on daddy's lap.

tonight before bed, i had to blow my nose. i've been watching where mommy and daddy get kleenex from, and i finally had my chance. i pulled out most of the box!

swimming fun

today i went swimming at grandma and grandpa's hotel. i had so much fun!!! mommy and daddy are thinking of signing me up for some water classes.
