cake and snacks
it took a while, but i'm finally starting to like my new daycare group. on thursday when mommy dropped me off, i didn't even let her come in. i just shut the gate and waved to her and said bye. needless to say, mommy was very happy.
this weekend was busy, Saturday especially. i met grandma and grandpa saillard for breakfast at the pancake cafe. then mommy tried to get me to take a nap. i took a catnap for about 30-45 minutes. then we got all fancy for Auntie D's wedding. she was very pretty. i was a bit noisy, so mommy took me out to the narthex and i ran around and watched the wedding on a tv. the reception wasn't for a couple hours, so we drove to target for an errand quick, and (as mommy and daddy had hoped) i fell asleep in the car. i slept for a little over an hour. we had some yummy food and i gave Auntie D and Uncle C high fives for congrats. we stayed later than my bedtime, and i stayed awake the whole ride home. it was probably all the sugar from the very yummy cake. i didn't go to bed until 10, but slept straight until 7. mommy and daddy were very happy.
today we just hung out and chilled. it was a 2-nap kind of day. :)
i also figured out how to crawl onto the top of a diaper box to get me some snacks.

15 month check-up and some more veggies
Here are my stats:
30.75" long/tall (39.31%)
22# 2oz (17.55%)
mommy also had some very important questions – like why I don’t sleep very well at night, even though i'm eating pretty well… She told the doctor that Monday this week I only to a 45 min nap and still woke up twice after being put to bed. Dr. S said that daddy should try going in my room first and try to comfort me.
Last night I only woke up at 2. Daddy tried to comfort me, but I really just wanted mommy. She waited a while to see if I would give in to daddy, but I was insistent. I tried to tell mommy I wanted some snacks and she said no. :( then she sat with me. I was happy, but wide awake. Eventually mommy laid me in my crib, but I had to keep checking to see if she was still there. I fell asleep about a half hour later, and slept until 7am.
I've also been a goofball lately. Look at the new shoes i have, and the alternative door i made for my car.
The CSA veggies we got this week were Broccoli, Cilantro, Garlic Scapes, Head Lettuce (Red Leaf), Kale (Red Russian), Kohlrabi, Salad Mix, Salad Turnips, Scallions, Sugar Snap Peas, Spinach, Strawberries, and Zucchini.

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to all my friends' daddies and papas! I surprised my daddy this weekend. i've been saying "bye" and "dad" for a while, but yesterday i put them together for the first time and said "bye dad." Daddy liked it, so i said it all the time - especially when daddy went upstairs, and out to the garage. i even helped him make kohlrabi on the grill yesterday ;)
In this video i am practicing saying bye. I'm going on a trip in my {laundry basket} car.
Today I hung out with daddy, because it’s his day. I was nice and took a 2-hour nap for him. This is very different from last week... I like to sit by daddy when he puts on shoes and i pretend to put mine on, too.
Last week I was very hesitant to go in to the new group’s play area. I also was not very good at taking naps. At the slightest sound, I get distracted and have to see what’s going on. Yesterday we dropped mommy’s car off for an oil change and went to the farmer's market. I love watching everyone in my stroller. The only naps I took were in the car on the way to and from the market. Otherwise I wanted to run around!

Lots of veggies from our Community Supported Agriculture farm
we haven't even finished the lettuces from last week's CSA box, and yesterday we got: 2 kohlrabi, 3 turnips, 5 radishes, a small bunch of green onions, 4 garlic scapes, 1 giant bag of spinach, 1 giant head of romaine lettuce, rainbow chard, 1 giant bok choy, 1/2 (giant) bag of salad mix, and some mustard greens! mommy will be very busy getting all these veggies ready to eat! Here's a pic of just some of these yummies.
tonight i gave mommy and daddy a hard time. i was a bit on edge and didn't want to do anything they suggested. i finally decided to sit on mommy's lap while she had some supper and asked if i could have some. mommy made eggs with kale and spinach from the CSA. there is LOTS to use up! i didn't go to bed until 8:45 or so, and was so tired when i sat with mommy to look at a book, i fell asleep in minutes.

new group at daycare
It's back to reality - Mommy said our trip to NYC prepared me well for this week. I did not want to take any naps in the city – there is too much to see! I wanted to watch people when we first got on the plane ride home, but eventually i fell asleep.
This week I am spending some time with the group above me at daycare. They are called the parrots, and also only take one nap a day. Mommy thinks it’s perfect, because I’m becoming quite the parrot at home – both with (a few) words, and my gestures.

Fun in the Big Apple
After we all had warmer clothes on, we walked down to the Sony Wonder Technology Lab. I had lots of fun. We got to make our own "ID" and then use technology to personalize our ID. We could make our own dance, and put our picture on a wall. mommy and daddy had so much fun they didn't take any picture of me!
After we got done at the Children's museum, we were all very hungry. we went back to near the subway and had some lunch at a place called "Europan." I fell asleep on the way there, but when i woke up, i had 2 pouches! I was HUNGRY! when we were done, we walked back through Central Park and headed back to the apartment for a bit before we grabbed an early supper at Caffe Buon Gusto. mommy said it's one of her favorite places in NYC. The Italians there loved me. i talked a LOT and they said i have a "beautiful voice." and they kissed my head a lot! :)

my first subway ride
I got to see Yellow - he's a pretty big guy.
Here we are in Times Square. I loved it - there was SO much going on. Afterwards, we walked back through Central Park and went out to eat at Shake Shack. While we were waiting for our food, i pretended the buzzer was a phone. I LOVED the ice cream there, and even had some of mommy's burger and fries.

a wet day in Central Park
well, i did very well on my first flight last night. Mommy had lots of offers for help, because it was just her and me with our suitcase, my carseat and me. I made friends with both the flight attendants on the plane. i said "bye" to everyone who was leaving while we were waiting for our gate-checked bags. When we got to the city, daddy met us at the curb outside the hotel. I was very excited to see him. I didn't sleep the whole flight, and wasn't sure what to think on the plane or in the cab, but when i got up to the hotel room, i had to explore all around, including the luggage cart. This must have been why i didn't sleep very well in my new tent. Mommy and daddy bought me a new tent bed, hoping i'd sleep okay and still have my own bed. but i roll around so much, that i almost rolled out the door (of the bed, not the room!).
Today we went to Central Park to run off some steam. it's so nice and quiet in the hustle and bustle of the city. It was HOT out, and mommy and daddy let me run in a water area for kids. then i went to run in some dirt - mommy wasn't too thrilled ;) i also found a ball lying in the middle of the grass and threw it around a bit and moved it with a stick.
We went to eat at MXco, just up the street from grandpa's apartment. i loved the sweet potato fries and mommy and daddy chowed on some yummy tacos (Shrimp and steak). i made friends with all the waiters and flirted with all the ladies ;) after that, we went "home" and i got to see Grandpa Rick.

it hasn't been long...
But i sure have lots to tell and show you! Here are some pictures from the last week.
In the first one i am fetching a duck in swim class. i love to chase the duckies! The next one we're working on my jumping. i like when daddy helps me jump off the edge of the pool and into the water.

Here i am trying to fit where wine bottles should go...mommy and daddy had to remove the wine bottle holder as soon as i started walking.
and here i am at the elementary school playground with mommy and daddy. i really liked going down the slide.
who needs toys when you have kitchen utensils and the garbage can?
this weekend grandma came to visit. daddy had a work trip to new york and left early saturday morning. mommy and i went to the farmer's market, and then when grandma got here, we went to a makeup swim class, since i'll miss my last one when mommy and i go to new york. That's right - i'm going too!! i am very excited, and mommy is nervous. we leave this evening on the plane...and hopefully everything will go well. :)
some new developments for me:
* i ask for my nuk by pointing to my mouth, and then if i don't know where it is, i put my hands up and shrug (see above)
* i love to say bye. although, i do say it with a bit of a southern accent.

* i love to give hugs and kisses (yes, still)
* i am coming out of my shell a bit
* i have learned how to shriek. mommy and daddy are excited about this one (ok, not really).
* i love to get into trouble!
* i have been visiting the older kids at daycare lately, they are thinking of moving me up perhaps in a few weeks...
This spring we paid Primrose Community Farm a bunch of money, and every week they bring LOTS of yummy veggies to daddy's work for us to pick up. We were very lucky to have our health insurance reimburse us for almost half of what we paid (because we "promise" to eat so healthy!). It was silly not to do it, because all the veggies are organic (not to mention yummy)!
This week mommy and i had to venture to daddy's work to pick up all the veggies. We got:
- Arugula, Bok Choi, Broccoli, Garlic Scapes, Head Red Butterhead Lettuce, Red Russian Kale, Radish, Salad Mix, Salad Turnips and Spinach
Stay tuned for my updates from the Big Apple!
